On 26 and 27 May 2025, inland shipping operators, technology providers, and the inland shipping-related R&D community met in Duisburg. The event, organised by the PLATINA4Action, SYNERGETICS and BinSmart projects, aimed to facilitate discussion on these key topics:
- Experiences with novel propulsion systems on inland and coastal vessels
- Technologies for improving the energy efficiency and environmental performance of ships
- Funding opportunities in inland navigation
- Presentation of the second phase of BinSmart
The event was split into two parts:
- PLATINA4Action – Technology Transfer Workshop May 26, 12:00 – 18:00
- BinSmart – 8. Treffen der Begleitforschungsgruppe May 27, 09:00 – 14:00
Participation in both days was free of charge. The event was funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BinSmart) and the EU’s Horizon Europe Research & Innovation Programme (PLATINA4Action, SYNERGETICS).
